In the SR20DE/DET engine, It is known that during certain unusual high engine speeds whilst for example during circuit or drag racing, or perhaps an over RPM condition caused by a miss shift will sometimes lead the tappet side of the rocker arm fulcrum to jump, and the rocker arm to come off.
The Rocker arm stopper helps prevent this by preventing the lash adjuster side of Rocker from floating. And thus helps protect the engine from damage.
