Whats new, Nissan realtime tuning
Wednesday, 30 May 2007

Well its been an interesting few weeks since the last update. Some interesting new products have appeared in the pipeline, especially if your a Nissan owner.  We have taken on a new system that allows us to real-time map Nissan ECU's. This is on trial at the moment on one of our GTi-R's which is currently driving around with 700cc injectors, Q45 airflow meter and one of our 3071 turbos all working in perfect harmony. Its very quick indeed.

There are so many options and systems we can now work with it gets hard to know which to recommend. However with power FC becoming very hard to get for some models, the new custom remaps may save the day. but again lets not forget the awesome capabilities of the e-manage systems. Since all can do the job it really just depends on the finer details of which is best for you, for example if you want your tricks such as launch control/anti-lag/nitrous control then really the e-manage systems are the better option.

So what else is new? We have had a few interesting jobs recently. Most noticeably an early Evo II. This car is rather special even if we do say ourselves. Its been built under the direction of the customer and where necessary we have been offering a little advice and supplying some of the parts. Its now a 2.2 stroker with a rather nice GT35R turbo, 1000cc injectors and Apexi Power FC. We were asked to map this monster which took place at Surrey Rolling Road, where we were getting up to 560bhp where problems with the fuel system started to develop, so this is now being resolved and we should be back shortly to finish the job hopefully to see 600+ bhp. Should be very interesting indeed.

Our little Nissan March Superturbo has arrived back on the road this time with a new prototype head gasket and a new GT28R turbo. Lots of work still to do on this car, but its nice to see it going again. It is also running a custom reprogrammed ROM, another thing we have been playing with recently.

Until next time, stay tuned for future updates!

e-Manage installation and mapping
Wednesday, 21 March 2007

For a while now we have been offing various ECU fitting and mapping options. Although the this site had not mentioned as such (and is due to be updated over the following days), we primarily work with power fc, e-Manage, and Omex, but we do others and suggest you speak to us ifyou have any questions.

The most popular we seem to deal with are the Greddy e-Manage systems, and that is what I am going to introduce in this update.

First of all you may wish to read here if you are not aware of what the Greddy e-Manage system is.

So what do we offer? We offer a mobile fitting and/or mapping service. The reason we offer mobile is primarily due to the fact 90% of the cars we work with are initially unable to drive under their own power due to the kind of alterations they have had. For example, you may have fitted a new airflow meter and injectors after a fresh engine rebuild or alteration of pipework. As a result your car may now not drive and having it trailered to a workshop is both impractical, expensive and inconvenient.

Installation and mapping usually takes about 4-6 hours in total, and our basic price starts from around £280.

So what cars do we offer this on? The following may give you an idea:

Mitsubishi 4G63

Nissan SR20DE,SR20DET,MA09ERT,CG10DE,CG13DE,GA16DE

This is an example of the popular cars and is by no means an extensive list, if the system supports it we can fit it, and if it doesn't we can engineer a solution for you that will.

So what about our experience? We first started using the e-Manage systems in 2004 on our own GTi-R project. It was quite a new idea then and in almost no time at all we were getting results. At this time we were producing around 400bhp and achieving 1/4 mile times comfortably in the 11 second bracket.
Since this time we have fitted many more e-Manage, and carried out much of our own development. For example our March Super turbo project was fitted with the e-Manage ultimate as soon as we could get our hands on it. Officially it does not support the car however with a bit of investigation with the main car and loom everything fell into place and as a result it now controls all the cars systems with fantastic results. I shall be asking some of our previous customers to give a frank and honest view of what they thought of our services. We pride ourself in our understanding of what we do and believe beyond any doubt that you can have faith in our advice and knowledge with these systems.

Finally we shall be updating the site soon to reflect these services. And may have one or two special video clips to demonstrate what we have been up to recently.

Until then any questions please to get in touch. We are more than happy to help.

What's new?
Wednesday, 14 March 2007

Its been a while since anything was updated on here. The lack of available hours in the day typically means that things like this tend to come last! There have been a few price drops around the site, most notably the e-manage range or products. The trouble is however that there is so little mark up in these that its still impossible to compete with the back-door tax free imports that so many manage to get. However its worth remembering that pretty much always you get what you pay for and often our experience and support with the e-manage as part of the package far outweighs the cost saving from buying from anyone regardless of how cheap Cool. The Pulsar turbos are proving popular. Anyone with a 2.0 wanting between 3-450bhp should consider the 3071, they truly are impressive bits of metal.

I should also perhaps say that there is so much more than what this site can tell you about us. We are self confessed experts with the e-Manage units. We have mapped hundreds of these now, and have people come from far and wide to take advantage of our experience.
One interesting one recently was a customer who came over from Ireland with a March Superturbo, and went away with approximately 30% more bhp than he arrived with. Its a shame this one is are so far as with a few simple mods so much more is possible. We have also carried out conversions to remove NATS from K11 micras with faulty ECUS and converting them to run on non-nats ecus setups. Thus saving the owner hundreds of pounds for a new ecu and NATS related problems. Finally another not so common one was the conversion of an Almera GTI to run with Pulsar RNN14 ecu on the stock Almera loom to solve problems with the SR20DET engine which was previously running with the Almera ECU and blue e-manage. There are a few more tweeks to be made here soon but this car is going to be a real weapon.

So what else is new? A few of our customers long term projects are now near completion. One interesting project in particular is a 2000 Nissan Micra 1.4 which is the first that we know of anywhere with such a turbo conversion. We have fitted a GT25R turbo, removed the Bosch engine management, and rebuilt the engine using our own design of pistons and a new prototype head gasket. In place of the Bosch ECU we fitted an Omex 600 series unit. A rather nice device that neatly fitted in with the Micras revised electronics.

The car is currently running on standard cams and was recently for the first time put on a rolling road after having completed about 4000 miles since a rebuild. The results were quite impressive with a power reading of 201.7bhp up from a standard 85bhp stock. This power was also produced under 6000 rpm, and the dyno results as expected showed how the stock cams are now struggling with this increase in power.

Click HERE to see the Dyno result. It is still very early days yet. The GT25R turbo is running quite well within its limits. The cams need improving and there are many many other tweaks to make before the full potential of this car will be realised. However like all out major projects, we will refrain from calling it a complete success until it has had time to prove its capabilities.

I shall endeavour to do some much needed updating to the site over the next few weeks. Its about time there was more of what we offered on here. But in the meantime if you have any questions about anything we offer please do get in contact with us!
